The SEIDO Cookware 5-Year Limited Warranty

Every SEIDO Cookware product — the frying pans, the lunch boxes, the chef's knife, the honing steel and the peeler — carries a 5-Year Limited Warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal home use, for five years from the date of purchase. Lunch box lid parts are covered for 1 year. To claim, email customerservice@seidocookware.co.uk with your Amazon order number and photos of the issue.

It is labelled limited because it has exclusions, and every one of them is listed on this page. It covers products bought new in the United Kingdom and applies to the original purchaser; no registration is required. It is in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer and does not affect them. Your Amazon order number is your proof of purchase — keep it with the product and with the safety and use-and-care instructions packed in the box. Below is the full coverage in plain language: who gives the warranty, what it covers, what we will do, what it does not cover, how a claim works and your statutory rights.

Who Gives This Warranty?

The warranty is given by B & C Enterprises Ltd, which trades as SEIDO Cookware (Company No. 13445334, registered in England and Wales), Suite RA01, 195-197 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU, United Kingdom. Warranty questions and claims go to customerservice@seidocookware.co.uk.

It covers SEIDO Cookware products bought new in the United Kingdom, from Amazon.co.uk or any other UK retailer. Products bought on Amazon.com are covered by our US warranty, at seidocookware.com/warranty.

What Does the 5-Year Limited Warranty Cover?

The 5-Year Limited Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal home use, for five years from the date of purchase. If a product fails because of how it was made — not how it was used — that failure is covered.

That means flaws present in the material itself or introduced during manufacturing. Normal home use means use in line with the safety and use-and-care instructions that come in the box.

The frying pans — body, handle and stainless steel lid — the lunch box's stainless steel containers, the chef's knife, the honing steel and the peeler are covered for the full five years. The lunch box lid parts — the tempered glass, the plastic frame, the clips and the silicone gasket — are covered for 1 year, because they wear with daily use.

A stainless steel pan warranty is also refreshingly simple. SEIDO Cookware frying pans are made without synthetic coatings, so a coating that can wear or flake is simply not there to fail. What remains is a tri-ply clad body: a 304 (18/8) stainless steel cooking surface, an aluminium core and a 430 stainless steel exterior — and that is what we stand behind.

The 5-Year Limited Warranty is in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer and does not affect them.

What Will SEIDO Do?

If we confirm a defect in materials or workmanship, we will, at our option, repair or replace the defective part or product — with the same or a comparable model if it is no longer made — or refund the price you paid. A replacement is covered for the rest of the original warranty period.

What Does the Warranty Not Cover?

These sit outside the warranty. None of them are surprises, and none of them are hidden in fine print:

  • Normal wear — scratches, scuffs, water spots, gasket wear, a blade edge that dulls with use, and the ordinary surface changes that come with routine cooking and washing.
  • Discolouration from use — rainbow, blue or golden tinting is normal stainless steel behaviour, not a defect. It affects appearance only.
  • Damage from misuse or accident — drops, dents, impacts, overheating an empty pan on a high heat or letting it boil dry, or using a product for something it was not designed to do.
  • Damage from not following the instructions in the box — for example, heating an empty lunch box container, microwaving with the lunch box lid on and its steam vent closed or blocked, putting the lid in an oven, or letting a frying pan boil dry.
  • Products bought used, refurbished or 'renewed', including Amazon Grade & Resell. New products are covered whichever UK retailer you bought them from.
  • Leaks — the lunch box is not leak-proof, so a spill in a bag is not a defect, and neither is damage to anything the spill reaches.
  • Damage from bleach, chlorine-based cleaners or oven cleaner.
  • Products that have been altered, or repaired by anyone other than SEIDO Cookware.
  • Commercial use — the warranty covers home use. Restaurant or other commercial service is excluded.
  • Food, and loss of or damage to other property.

How Do I Make a Warranty Claim?

Returns within Amazon's return window go through Your Orders on Amazon. After that, the warranty takes over, and a claim takes a few minutes to prepare. You will need two things:

First, your Amazon order number — you will find it under Your Orders in your Amazon account. Second, photos of the issue — clear shots of the affected area, plus one of the whole product.

Email both to customerservice@seidocookware.co.uk, or send them through our contact page, with a short description of what happened and when you first noticed it. We reply by email within 5 working days, and within 24 hours to messages sent through Amazon. We assess every claim from your photos, so you do not need to send the product back. If you are not sure whether your issue is wear or a defect, contact us anyway — we would rather look at a photo than have you guess.

Your Statutory Rights

This warranty is an extra promise from us, at no extra cost to you. It is in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer and does not affect them: under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. For advice about your statutory rights, contact Citizens Advice.

What this warranty itself provides is the repair, replacement or refund described above. It does not, on its own, pay for other losses — such as food, damage to other property or loss of business — but it never reduces any compensation the law gives you.

Nothing in this warranty limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law does not allow to be limited or excluded.

This warranty is governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the SEIDO Cookware warranty?
Every SEIDO Cookware product carries a 5-Year Limited Warranty, running five years from the date of purchase. It covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal home use, and it applies across the range: the 20 cm (8 in), 24 cm (9.5 in) and 28 cm (11 in) frying pans; the stainless steel lunch box 3-pack, 800 ml (27 oz) each, whose lid parts are covered for 1 year; and the chef's knife, the honing steel and the peeler.
Why is it called a limited warranty?
It is labelled limited because it has exclusions: normal wear, misuse, commercial use and the others listed on this page. Cover for defects in materials and workmanship still runs the full five years.
Does the warranty affect my statutory rights?
No. The 5-Year Limited Warranty is an extra promise from SEIDO Cookware, at no extra cost to you, and it is in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, whatever a warranty says.
What do I need to make a warranty claim?
Two things: your Amazon order number and photos of the issue. The order number sits under Your Orders in your Amazon account and serves as your proof of purchase. Take clear photos of the affected area plus one of the whole product, then email everything to customerservice@seidocookware.co.uk, or send it through our contact page, with a short description. No registration or paperwork is required, and you do not need to send the product back.
Are the lunch box lids covered for five years too?
The lunch box lid parts — the tempered glass, the plastic frame, the clips and the silicone gasket — are covered for 1 year, because they wear with daily use. The stainless steel containers are covered for the full five years. Lids go in the fridge, the freezer and the dishwasher, and in the microwave only with the steam vent fully open and clear — never in the oven.
Does discolouration count as a defect?
No. Rainbow, blue or golden tinting on stainless steel is a normal result of heat — a thin surface layer that changes how light reflects, not a flaw in the material. It affects appearance only and can be removed at home. We explain the science, and the fix, in our guides.
Is the SEIDO Cookware warranty transferable?
The 5-Year Limited Warranty applies to the original purchaser. Claims are verified against the original Amazon order, so the order number is the key document — if you received a SEIDO Cookware product as a gift, ask the purchaser to keep that number on hand. The warranty does not transfer with resale of the product.
