Privacy Policy

Effective 12 October 2026

Who we are

SEIDO Cookware is a trading name of B & C Enterprises Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, Company No. 13445334, with its registered office at Suite RA01, 195-197 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU, United Kingdom. This policy covers seidocookware.co.uk, our website for the United Kingdom. Our US website, seidocookware.com, has its own privacy policy.

B & C Enterprises Ltd is the controller of the personal data described here, under UK data protection law: the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. For anything about this policy or your data, email customerservice@seidocookware.co.uk.

This is an information site. You can read about our cookware here, but you cannot buy anything here: there is no checkout, no payment and no customer account, and the site shows no prices. Our products are sold on Amazon.co.uk. The site has no forms, no email sign-up, no analytics and no advertising pixels, and you do not have to give us any personal data to use it.

What we collect

Reading this site involves very little personal data. We do not use analytics or advertising pixels, we take no payments, and we do not try to identify individual visitors. What we do process:

  • Request data. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes your IP address and the other details your browser sends with each request, such as the page asked for and the type of browser, so that it can deliver pages to you and protect the site against attacks and misuse.
  • Your country. To decide whether to show you a short "Shopping from the US?" message pointing to our US site, the site reads the country that Vercel works out from your IP address. Only the country is used, and it is not stored.
  • Emails you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if your email shows it, and whatever you write or attach: for a warranty claim, for example, your Amazon order number and photos of the issue. Our email runs on Microsoft 365.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

We use personal data only for the purposes below, and we do not make decisions about you by automated means. UK data protection law requires a lawful basis for each use. Ours are:

  • Delivering the site and keeping it secure (request data): our legitimate interests in running a website that works and is protected against attacks.
  • Showing the "Shopping from the US?" message (your country): our legitimate interests in pointing visitors in the United States to the site that serves them.
  • Answering your emails: our legitimate interests in replying to the people who contact us. For a trade or partnership enquiry, also taking the steps you ask for before we enter into an agreement with you.
  • Handling warranty claims: performing the 5-Year Limited Warranty we give on our products (a contract).
  • Keeping business, tax and accounting records: complying with our legal obligations.
  • Establishing, exercising or defending legal claims: our legitimate interests.

Cookies and similar storage

We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. This site stores only the three small items listed below, and each one is strictly necessary for the site to work as you would expect. The two kept in your browser's local storage are not sent to us. You can delete any of them at any time in your browser settings; the site will still work, and you may simply see our cookie notice again.

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), storage that is strictly necessary to provide the service you have asked for does not need your consent. So our cookie notice is there to inform you, not to ask you to choose: it has one button, "OK", and once you close it, it is not shown to you again.

If we ever add optional cookies, such as analytics, we will ask for your consent before setting any, and we will update this policy first.

When you follow a link to Amazon.co.uk, Amazon sets its own cookies under its own cookie notice.

What this site stores on your device:

  • seido-cookie-consent (local storage in your browser): remembers that you have closed our cookie notice, so that it is not shown to you again. It stays until you clear your browser's storage for this site.
  • seido-us-banner-dismissed (local storage in your browser): records when you closed the "Shopping from the US?" message, so that we do not show it to you again for 30 days.
  • csrf-token (a cookie): a random security code that protects sign-in pages against cross-site request forgery, a kind of attack in which another website tries to act in your name. It is set only on our sign-in pages and the private areas behind them, never on the pages visitors normally read, and it expires when you close your browser.

If you used our previous website

The previous version of this website had a contact form, a newsletter sign-up, a customer account area, a trade (wholesale) account and ordering portal, and an affiliate programme with its own portal and tracked links. Those features have been retired, but the records made through them are kept in our database, which Supabase hosts for us in London, United Kingdom.

For the old accounts, the database's sign-in service also holds the sign-in email address, the password in hashed form (never the password itself) and when the account last signed in.

You can ask us to delete any of these records at any time (see Your rights). The records, and our lawful basis for each:

  • Contact form messages: your name, email address and message. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in answering you and keeping a record of what was said.
  • Newsletter sign-ups: your email address, the date you signed up, the page you signed up from and the consent wording you agreed to. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Customer accounts: your email address, your name and whether you agreed to receive marketing emails. Lawful basis: a contract (providing the account you asked for) and, for marketing, your consent.
  • Trade accounts and orders: company name, company number, VAT number, contact name, email address, phone number, address and the details of each order, including delivery details. Lawful basis: a contract (our trade agreement with you) and a legal obligation (the tax and accounting records the law requires).
  • Affiliate applications and accounts: name, email address, phone number, social media handles and website, details about the applicant's audience and anything else the applicant chose to tell us; for approved affiliates, also the account, the results of their links and records of commission payments. Lawful basis: a contract (considering the application, running the affiliate agreement and paying commission) and a legal obligation (payment records).
  • Affiliate link clicks: when someone followed an affiliate's link, we recorded the time, the link, the visitor's country, the browser's user agent (a short description of the browser and device) and the IP address in hashed (scrambled) form, never the address itself. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in counting clicks, working out commission and spotting fraudulent clicks.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. We disclose it only to the service providers below, where the law requires us to, or where we need to for a legal claim. Each provider receives only the data it needs to provide its service:

  • Vercel: hosts this website and processes request data to deliver and protect it.
  • Supabase: hosts our database in London, including the records from our previous website, and its sign-in service.
  • Microsoft: provides our email (Microsoft 365), which holds the emails you send us and our replies.
  • Resend: delivers our weekly encrypted database backup by email.
  • Google: holds those backup emails in a Gmail mailbox.

When you go to Amazon.co.uk

When you follow a link to Amazon.co.uk, you leave our site. Amazon is a separate controller of your data, and from that point Amazon's own Privacy Notice, which you can find on Amazon.co.uk, applies.

Some of our links to Amazon.co.uk carry a campaign tag (Amazon Attribution), so that Amazon can report to us how many visits and sales came from this site. Amazon reports these as totals: they do not tell us who you are.

International transfers

Our database is hosted in London. Several of our service providers are based in the United States, so your personal data may be processed there. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it, judged by what it is for:

  • Request data processed by Vercel: only as long as it is needed to deliver and protect the site.
  • Your emails: as long as we need them to deal with your message, and after that for as long as we need a record of what was said or agreed.
  • Records from our previous website: as long as we need them for the purpose they were collected for. Business and tax records, such as trade orders and commission payments, are kept for as long as the law requires: UK company accounting records are generally kept for six years.
  • Storage on your device: as set out under Cookies and similar storage.
  • Backups: 13 weeks, as set out under Backups and security.

Backups and security

We protect the data we hold with access controls and encrypted connections (HTTPS). No website can promise perfect security, but collecting little means there is little to expose.

Once a week we make an encrypted backup of our database, so that we can recover from an accident or an attack. The backup is encrypted before it is sent by email to our director's mailbox, so the services that carry and store it cannot read it. Each backup is kept for 13 weeks and then deleted. When we delete your data at your request, we remove it from our live database, and the copies in our backups are gone within 13 weeks as the older backups are deleted.

Your rights

To use any of the rights below, email customerservice@seidocookware.co.uk. Making a request is free, and we reply within one month. If we need more information to find your data or to confirm that it is yours, we will ask.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: have inaccurate data corrected and incomplete data completed.
  • Erasure: have your data deleted, unless the law requires us to keep it, as it does for tax records.
  • Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Objection: object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests. We will stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue or need the data for a legal claim.
  • Portability: receive the data you gave us in a common, machine-readable format, or have it sent to another organisation, where we hold it on the basis of your consent or a contract.
  • Withdraw consent: where we rely on your consent, withdraw it at any time. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, please tell us, so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator: ico.org.uk, telephone 0303 123 1113.

Age

This site is not aimed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe someone under 13 has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.

Changes and contact

This policy is effective from 12 October 2026.

If we change it, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page.
